Maintenance of Thermal Oil Boiler Storage Tanks: The Key to Ensuring Stable System Operation

In the industrial heating system, the thermal oil boiler storage tank is of great significance to the stability and safety of the production process. Standardized and regular maintenance can extend its service life, reduce production risks, and improve enterprise efficiency.

Appearance Inspection and Cleaning During daily inspections, pay attention to the appearance of the storage tank. If there is rust, deformation, or damage, record it promptly and assess the risks. For slight rust, it can be sanded to remove rust and then painted with anti-rust paint. In case of serious problems, professional inspection is required, and replacement may be necessary if needed. Usually, regularly clean the dust and oil stains on the surface to prevent affecting heat dissipation or accelerating corrosion.

Sealing Inspection Once the storage tank leaks, it not only wastes thermal oil but also easily causes safety accidents. Therefore, regularly check for oil seepage at connection parts such as flanges, valves, and welds. Soapy water can be used for detection. When a leakage point is found, tighten the bolts or replace the sealing gasket promptly. If the weld leaks, professional welding repair is required, and then test the sealing performance again.

Thermal Oil Quality Monitoring Regularly spot-check the thermal oil in the storage tank and analyze indicators such as acid value, viscosity, and flash point. An increase in acid value, abnormal viscosity, and a decrease in flash point mean oxidation and deterioration of the thermal oil, affected heat transfer efficiency, and an increased fire risk, respectively. When the oil quality does not meet the standard, for mild deterioration, it can be regenerated by filtering and adding antioxidants. In case of severe deterioration, the oil should be replaced on time.

Accessory Maintenance

1. Valve Maintenance: Regularly open and close valves such as oil inlet and outlet valves and blow-down valves, and check their sealing performance to prevent internal or external leakage. For valves that are not used for a long time, move the valve stem and apply lubricating grease.

2. Level Gauge Maintenance: Keep the level gauge clean, check whether the connection parts are loose, and compare the manual measurement with the display of the level gauge. Calibrate or repair it if there is a deviation.

3. Breather Valve Maintenance: Regularly clean the valve disc and valve seat of the breather valve, check the elasticity of the spring, and ensure that it can ventilate normally within the specified pressure.

Regular Comprehensive Maintenance Conduct a comprehensive maintenance of the storage tank once every quarter or half a year. First, empty the thermal oil, and use a special cleaning agent or steam to flush out impurities and sludge in the tank. Check the corrosion of the inner wall and repair it. At the same time, check the external insulation layer and repair any damage in a timely manner to reduce heat loss. Doing a good job in the maintenance of thermal oil boiler storage tanks is the key to ensuring the stable, efficient, and safe operation of the industrial heating system. Enterprises should develop a detailed plan and arrange dedicated personnel to implement it, laying a solid foundation for production activities.Fuel Gas Boiler, Coal Burning Boiler, Electric Heating Boiler, Autoclave-HANYU Boiler (Henan) Co., Ltd.
